The Oncotype DX^® Colon Cancer Assay uses Genomic Health´s well-established RT-PCR platform to quantitatively assess, each member´s tumor sample for the level of expression of a 12 gene panel. For each member, The test produces a Recurrence Score which predicts the risk of recurrence for that individual member with Stage II colon cancer. A better understanding of individual risk of recurrence serves as an important factor guiding personalized treatment decisions for members with Stage II colon cancer.
