A clinically validated assay that can help predict chemotherapy benefit.

The Oncotype DX® assay is a clinically validated assay that provides clinical utility for identifying the relatively small number of women who may significantly benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy. Those who would experience only a limited benefit from chemotherapy, on the other hand, will have access to this information before undertaking a treatment that could cause serious adverse events. Thus, the Oncotype DX test is recommended as an option by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines. The economic implications have applicability to commercial health plans, Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) and the oncology community as a whole.

In this portion of the Oncotype DX website, key elements are provided from the recently developed Genomic Health Oncotype DX Assay Genomic Dossier. A complete dossier is available only to managed care organizations and CMS upon request from a Genomic Health Managed Care Account Executive.
